With over 52 years in the needle arts as a designer, teacher and master knitter, Candice Powell has fostered an interesting and prolific knitting career.

Candice first learned to knit at an early age, as an eight-year-old Girl Scout Brownie. This initial interest sparked an obsession, which eventually led to a well-earned Fashion Degree from Florida State University. With knowledge of design and a love for knitting firmly planted, Candice purchased her very own yarn shop in Tallahassee, FL.

In 2003, she opened her second yarn store, Yarntiques, in a quaint Victorian house in Johnson City, TN with the intent to spread her love of the needle arts to her community.

Candice has written patterns for Prism Yarns and has designed several garments for the Tahki Stacy Charles Collections. Today, Candice continues to teach and design beautiful garments for the fashion-forward knitter. You can find more of her work by following Yarntiques on Facebok and Instagram.
